Sincere and heartfelt thanks to Melinda Cochrane, my first publisher, who has mentored me on so many levels in the past several years; among them, editing, promotion, book layout, and overall moral support. In the time that I’ve known her, she’s provided me with the knowledge, the tools, and the confidence necessary to further my writing, editing, and publishing careers. She gave me a chance to share my writings with the world, and I could never have achieved the goals that I have thus far without her.
Melinda Cochrane is not only a supportive book publisher, but also a great friend who nurtures and supports the writers that she publishes and works with. It was great to publish my first poetry book STRINGS with her company and then follow up with a few others. My poetry book CAROUSEL is my best work yet and the true and honest feedback I always receive from Melinda is a gift. Knowing that Melinda loves my work as much as I do makes all the difference in the world. It is wonderful to publish with someone strong, knowledgeable and caring like Melinda Cochrane and I am grateful that we crossed paths and still continue to work towards changing the world through our own work and support we give to others.

I'm so glad I came; it was an absolute enlightening presentation. What really stayed with me afterward was the part in which you were speaking about how you didn't become a writer until you started teaching. I understand this completely. Even though I consider myself a bookworm and doodle story plots in my notebook whenever inspiration hits, I have yet to actually follow through on one of those ideas, and maybe having a class full of eager-to-learn students will encourage me in some way too. Thank you for all of your insights, Amanda
